Humphrey SPENDER
John Humphrey Spender (1910–2005) was a British photographer, painter, and designer. He gained prominence in the 1930s for his documentary photography, notably through his work with the Mass Observation project, capturing everyday life in working-class communities like Bolton. Spender also contributed to Picture Post magazine and served as an official war photographer during World War II. Later, he focused on textile design and taught at the Royal College of Art until 1975.
