This is plate no. 8 from the French edition Érotiques de Beardsley, published around the mid-20th century by Éditions Les Yeux Ouverts in Paris. It includes erotic illustrations by Aubrey Beardsley (1872–1898), a British artist known for his bold and decadent style.

The artwork is an original lithograph printed in black on cream paper. Three nude figures appear inside a decorative border filled with stylized floral patterns. The central figure stands tall, with exaggerated hair and long limbs, while the others seem to act out a strange, almost theatrical scene. Their poses suggest a mix of dominance, submission, and play. Black accents on their bodies and accessories—like feathers, stockings, or boots—add to the image’s sensual and surreal atmosphere.

Beardsley’s art blends eroticism, satire, and fantasy. His work often challenges gender roles and explores taboos. He took inspiration from Japanese prints, especially ukiyo-e, and was influenced by the decadent writers of his time. These include Oscar Wilde and Pierre Louÿs, who also explored themes of beauty, desire, and transgression.

This French edition is not numbered and was likely made for general sale. Still, collectors value it for its quality and for how it highlights Beardsley’s unique style. His work connects with other artists of erotic art, such as Félicien Rops and Franz von Bayros, who also pushed social boundaries through art.
